Position Summary

We are onsite approximately 5% of the time and provide remote support, security auditing, compliance management, consulting to internal team members and clients from one of our offices or your home office 95% of the time. We typically work around 45 hours per week, although sometimes we work longer and later. (In IT support, things can go crazy, and we must work late sometimes). With the right monitoring tools, standardization, automation, and processes in place, we work to eliminate the crazy the best we can. Our office support hours are 8 AM until 6 PM. We would be lying if we said those were cushy hours playing PlayStation or watching Netflix while listening to clients talk about security issues on the phone. That's not our day - we are busting it to help our clients and move on to the next problem.

Position Responsibilities

• The Security Engineer position will report to the Cantey Tech's Information Security Officer
  

• Ability to analyze and review:    
• Content filtering reports and logs
• Endpoint security products
• Security Operations Center (SOC) reports
• Firewall reports
• Email Security reports
• Wireless Access reports
• Remote Access report
• Understanding of vulnerability management, reports, and remediation planning.
• Review content/web filtering requests for blocking/unblocking sites for security best practices.
• Routine review of open security tickets.
• Understand how to work within an IT management ticketing system to track time worked and details of issues.
• Attend weekly or monthly client security review meetings and also engage with the client's CIO/IT manager or Cantey Tech vCIO team on a routine basis.
• Setup reports for patch management, firewall security, content filtering, endpoint security, email security, and backup reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Management of security awareness training programs for each client.
• Review existing IT policies, let ISO know what needs to be adjusted for all clients.
• Security engineering and evidence gathering for security risk assessment.
• Act as the lead technical resource for a security audit.
• Compliance management evidence gathering.
• Work with outsourced penetration testing vendors to help client IT teams remediate items on risk assessments.
• Management of third-party security operations center requests (SOC) and tickets.
• Security technical resource for client Incident Response Teams.
• Maintain client security dashboards.

Qualifications and Technical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT security role or IT compliance management.
• Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.

• Ability to audit multiple backup applications.
• Working knowledge of multiple compliance mandates and frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, SOX, FERPA, NIST, CMMC, etc.)

        Experience working inside a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or in an IT leadership role a plus.

        Certifications Desired: Security +, CISSP, CISA, CySA+, CASP+

        A couple of other things:
