As a Security Administrator, and an integral member of the Cyber Security Services Network Security team, you will provide expert security and technical-level support to the enterprise state of Oregon, including agencies, partners, and other customers. You will monitor, patch, and replace on-premises, virtual and cloud security devices in multiple locations to maintain stable and continuous network access and security services. This essential work includes responsibility for the day-to-day health of the security infrastructure and for ensuring information confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of Information Systems experience in cyber security systems administration, configuring, administering, and maintaining firewalls and related security infrastructure. Four of the six years of experience must be in cloud security administration, analysis, and process development.

OR
  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of Information Systems experience in cloud security systems administration, configuring, administering, and maintaining firewalls and related cloud security infrastructure;

OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of Information Systems experience in cloud security systems administration, configuring, administering, and maintaining firewalls and related cloud security infrastructure;

OR
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, with focus on cloud security systems administration, configuring, administering, and maintaining firewalls and related cloud security infrastructure may substitute for all of the above.

Desired Attributes:
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, administering, and maintaining firewalls and related security infrastructure devices (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco, F5, pfSense, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, administering, and maintaining cloud security infrastructure objects (e.g. Palo Alto NGFW for Azure, NGFW for Amazon Web Services, Azure-native firewalls, etc).
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud information security concepts, best practices, application of NIST standards, and CIS controls.
  • Demonstrated experience and application of Information Technology Infrastructure Library concepts in an enterprise environment (e.g. change, incident and release management).
  • Deep customer service and facilitation skills at a variety of technical and business levels in a governmental setting.
  • IT acumen including a broad knowledge of, and ability to use, a variety of computers, software, scripting languages, application programming interface connectivity, networking, and security Information Systems.

Preference Statement: Preference may be given to those candidates who have been certified in cloud security (e.g.: CCSP, Cloud Security Techniques.) Please provide the certification details in your application materials.
