BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Perform various clerical duties that require good judgment in exercising these procedures: works carefully and tactfully with teachers, students, parents, and the general public; and assists the Assistant Principals in compiling reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Works cooperatively with students, teachers, parents, and the general public
- Proficient word processing and file maintenance skills
- Communicates effectively in oral and written form
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
- Ability to present one's self in a professional yet disciplinarian manner
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED

Records, Reports, and Correspondence:
- Types letters, memoranda, and forms as needed by the administrators.
- Assist the Assistant Principals in maintaining records of various types.
- Keep detailed discipline records including paperwork for disciplinary actions such as DAEP placements and expulsions.
- Assistant with organization of substitutes on a daily basis.
Reception and Phones:
- Assist in answering telephone calls.
- Acts as a receptionist and receives visitors to the Assistant Principal's office.
- Receives and forwards telephone calls to the Assistant Principal's office.
- Sets up appointments with parents for Assistant Principals.
Other:
- Ability to coordinate, communicate and work with all teachers.
- Remain flexible to change, student enrollment, and personalities on a daily basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain Assistant Principal office in a professional manner.
EXPERIENCE: At least three years' experience in office personnel and/or the school setting.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
- Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
