Secondary Mathematics Teacher (2 Positions)

Position Title: Secondary Mathematics Teacher (7-12)

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for 7-12 Mathematics (029).
• Degree from an accredidated college or university in Mathematics, or Education with mathematics as the concentration.

Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee

Evaluator: Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Work Year: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Responsibilities: The Secondary Mathematics Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:

• Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's Mathematics curriculum.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
• Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
• Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
