Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, recently voted #1 in the nation as the best large mortgage company to work for by National Mortgage News, is seeking a Secondary Lock Desk Intern for our Virginia Beach, Virginia office to join our 2023 internship program.

The Secondary Lock Desk Intern should have a strong desire to learn and expand their knowledge, while having the opportunity to translate their course practicum into real world experiences while assisting our Secondary Market teams.

The Summer Internship program is an opportunity for college students to gain industry related experience in a fast-paced customer focused organization. Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group prides itself on offering an outstanding environment to learn and grow in with a culture of teamwork, creativity, and amazing support.

This is a hybrid position as the individual must be willing to come into the Virginia Beach, VA office at least 3 days/week.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting with accepting rate locks and verifying accuracy of rate lock submission to ensure accurate pricing and eligibility for loan program requested through pricing and scenarios engine
• Processing extension and relock requests, ensuring accuracy of pricing and terms of loan, making applicable changes as necessary.
• Assisting with processing state agency bond rate locks as well as best efforts rate locks through applicable investor websites, while ensuring accuracy pertaining to pricing and loan eligibility according to guidelines
• Verifying and distributing lock confirmations
• Repricing/inputting all lock changes for sellers, underwriting, and funding
• Generating daily lock reports
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

• Currently enrolled in a form of secondary education (i.e., Trade School, College, Junior College, etc.) pursuing a degree in a Finance or Business field.
• Ability to work up to 29 hours per week.
• Professionalism and strong communication skills (both in person and via phone/email).
• Ability to work with all levels and varying positions of staff.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assignments.
• Strong organizational skills and the responsibility to complete tasks with limited supervision.
