Form of work Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team during busy season, 16+ weeks. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax preparation services to our clients. This is a temporary position that requires 3+ years of tax experience in public accounting, and has expertise in handling multiple tax forms.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of client financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and other relevant documents, to accurately assess tax liabilities and deductions.
- Prepare and file individual tax returns (Form 1040) for clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of tax codes and regulations to identify potential tax credits, deductions, and exemptions that can minimize clients' tax liabilities.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on tax-related matters, including tax planning strategies and potential financial implications.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and up-to-date tax preparation services.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation required for tax preparation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client information, tax returns, and supporting documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address any questions or concerns regarding their tax returns.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of client information throughout the tax preparation process.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of tax experience, with a focus on individual tax preparation.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
- Experience in preparing and filing Forms 1040, 1125, 1120, 1065 tax returns.
- Proficiency in using tax preparation software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tax calculations and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential tax savings opportunities.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree is a plus
- CPA is required
