Job Summary:
Gulliver Prep's Athletic Department is seeking to hire a Seasonal Head Coach for the Boys' Tennis Team. The Head Boys' Tennis Coach will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive instructional environment for our student-athletes from Grades 6-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Middle and Upper SchoolBoys' Tennis program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Middle and Upper School Boys' tennis season runs from January through April with practices taking place on Monday & Thursday (middle school) as well as Tuesday & Wednesday (Upper School) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on match days. There may be practices or matches scheduled on some Fridays.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan and conduct effective and engaging tennis practices.
- Develop and implement game plans for matches.
- Provide individualized coaching to enhance player skills and performance.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with the athletic department to ensure compliance with FHSAA and school policies.
- Monitor and support the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
- Must be available for practices and matches during after-school hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
- Extensive knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
