Summer Seasonal: June through August (variable hours; approximately 10-15 hours/week)
Essential Duties& Responsibilities
Coordinates playground activities at park/school sites
Safety and direct supervision of youth program participants ranging in age from 6-13
Promotes playground activities
Supervises playground outings/special events/field trips
Assists in the planning of playground activities/special events
Completes necessary paperwork (attendance forms, accident reports, etc.)
Supervises and interacts with participants while leading age appropriate activities Maintains a safe play environment
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
Communicates clearly and effectively with parents, participants, and Park and Recreation staff
Teaches sports, games, and crafts
Responsible for camper safety, well-being, and rule enforcement
Follows camp rules and enforces fair and consistent discipline according to policies
Promptly reports issues/concerns to Camp Supervisor and/or Recreation Coordinator
Works closely with the Parks & Recreation Department staff and volunteers to ensure all department rules and policies are observed
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age upon employment.
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
Wage: $14.00/hour
Work Sites: Big Hill Park, Various Parks and Schools
