Seasonal Assistant Store Manager

Department: Retail

Reports to:Store Manager

Summary:

Manages daily aspects of the department and its staff to ensure projects are completed
and goals and customer needs are met. Assists the Store Manager in providing
leadership and direction to the store operation by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent guest service.
• Is familiar with all lodges and activities in Custer State Park.
• Has an in-depth knowledge of the entire inventory.
• Assumes responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Comfortable handling cash, familiar with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Is ready, willing and able to step into any position in the store as needed.
• Keeps proprietary information confidential within and outside of the company.
• May be assigned other duties, sometimes in other departments, as the need arises to support fellow staff members in achieving the company mission.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Carries out supervisory responsibility under direction of the Store Manager.
• Trains associates; planning, assigning and directing work.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• May include other duties directed by the Store Manager.

Qualifications:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
  essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
  the knowledge and/or ability required.

Education/Experience Preferred:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-to-three months
  of related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule
  form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by
an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing abilities and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
