Seafood Clerk
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package seafood products for display and sale
- Ensure proper handling and storage of seafood to maintain freshness and quality
- Follow food safety guidelines and regulations to prevent contamination
- Assist customers with their seafood selections and provide excellent customer service
- Receive and inspect seafood deliveries for quality and accuracy
- Clean and sanitize work area, equipment, and utensils
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized seafood department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food production, food handling, or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of seafood varieties, cuts, and cooking methods is a plus
- Basic culinary skills, including knife handling and preparation techniques
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate weighing, packaging, and labeling of seafood products
- Excellent customer service skills to assist customers with their inquiries and provide recommendations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
Note: This position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.
