Special Education - Emotionally Disturbed (ED) Basic Function Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide Special Educational setting and programs to enable handicapped children to function successfully in the least restrictive alternative. Representative Duties Perform and coordinate necessary assessment required to determine student's educational program. Participate as a member of the IEP Team. Develop and implement the individual education plan. Provide individualized and small group instruction in all areas, as defined by students IEP. Arrange with school administrator and regular classroom teacher for integration of pupils into regular classes for instruction in areas where students can meet success; assumes monitoring of student progress in regular class. Hold conferences with parents of students. Review students progress in meeting behavioral objectives to determine if students have made adequate progress at set intervals. Attend workshops, staff meetings and in-services. Per form related duties as assigned. Implement educational plans. Organize instruction based on individual and group needs. Assess and diagnose deficits and growth. Education and Experience Any combination equivalent to: must possess a credential that authorizes teaching children in a special day class in which the primary disability is "emotional disturbance" and successful Special Education teaching experiences. Licenses and Other Requirements Pass an employer-paid pre-employment physical/drug screening. Environment Classroom environment. Physical Demands Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Seeing to read instructional materials, rules and policies and other printed matter. Hearing and speaking to exchange information and make presentations.
