Job Summary:
Makes new screens to be used in the printing process and reclaim them as needed.by stretching and gluing mesh onto aluminum frames, following procedures for using the correct screen meshes and frame sizes.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Stretch and glue mesh onto aluminum frames and coating screens with emulsion while following procedures for using the correct screen meshes and frame sizes
Correctly positions film onto screens as indicated by the manufacturing order and transfers the image onto the screens through the accurate use of the exposure unit
Inspects exposed screens for quality and accuracy and does any needed touch-up to make them production-ready
Transports screens and manufacturing order to appropriate department
Reclaims screens for reuse by applying chemicals, using power sprayer and automated and manual cleaning equipment
Lifts, loads and unloads aluminum frames into and from racks and machines for ink removal, emulsion removal and power washing
Uses chemicals to clean screens, ensuring that such chemicals are used with care and properly replenished upon completion
Uses DCT to accurately report process completion for each manufacturing order
Maintains equipment and does preventative maintenance in order to keep equipment in good working condition
Maintains effective working relationships with other associates
Actively participates in and supports teamwork and continuous process improvement
Demonstrates flexibility and commitment through cross training and helping other departments consistent with business needs
Performs duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies
Performs other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor/management
Additional Responsibilities:
To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected.
Maintains and/or improves line balance.
