Mix Room Operations Associate

Rich Ice Cream is seeking a motivated Operations Associate to join our team in West Palm Beach, Florida. The right candidate will be responsible for weighing, measuring, verifying, and documenting proper ingredients in the preparation and manufacturing of ice cream mixes used in the production of ice cream products as per established mixing standard operating procedures.

This position will utilize mechanical and problem-solving skills while working closely with the Operations team, Receiving team, Warehouse and Inventory team, Food Safety team, and Maintenance team in the production/manufacturing of products by following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) throughout the process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily production of fluid mixes to include preparing work orders for the Mix Operator, installing charts in recorders, preparing ingredient pull sheets for warehouse to stage, to ensure pasteurization, to ensure all thermometer and scales are in good working order, able to understand and adjust mix formulas.
• Assist the Supervisor/Lead in planning out / tank storage in advance to allow for proper cleaning and timely filling of tanks.
• Ability to navigate and use the company’s ERP system.
• Ability to work with regulatory agencies during inspections when necessary.
• Assist in working with maintenance and experienced team members to solve problems that may arise with the equipment, process, or team members.
• Assisting in ensuring the department is compliant with safety and environmental regulations. Any hazard must be reported to the safety manager / management immediately. All injuries / accidents must be reported to the safety manager / management immediately and proper documentation must be turned in.
• Ensure that all ingredients are properly logged using First In, First Out (FIFO), and all lot numbers and quantities are verified. Verify that the team is using the proper ingredients / package weights. Variances must be investigated, and actions plans must be implemented as necessary to prevent variances from occurring.

• Must have good ability in mathematics.
• Familiar with Pasteurization and CIP systems in the dairy field.
• Be able to speak, write, and communicate in fluent English.
• Physically capable of lifting and manually moving product weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Must use computer system to input mix orders into our ERP / inventory management system.
• Must have excellent attendance.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory type role.
