- Plan and independently complete In Vivo experiments to support preclinical characterization and evaluation of targets/pathways that regulate muscle mass, body composition, and energy balance.
- Perform assessments of skeletal muscle function In Vivo, in situ, and/or ex vivo.
- Perform routine rodent handling, dosing and small animal surgeries, including but not limited to parenteral routes of administration, osmotic pump implantation and other minor surgeries, as well as tissue collection.
- Perform molecular and biochemical assessments on ex vivo samples in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.
- Function independently, work within a team-oriented lab environment and work within cross-functional project teams.
- Requirement for accurate record keeping, independent data analysis, and reporting of data in written and oral formats. Will perform work in full compliance with Lilly Research Policies and complete all required training activities in the timeframe specified.
- B.S. and/or M.S. in biology or a closely related field
- 3+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in an industrial setting
- A background in muscle physiology and metabolism, and/or energy balance regulation and metabolic disease is a plus.
- Experience with skeletal muscle collection and processing of tissues for histological and imaging techniques is a plus.
- Support the implementation of new assay technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting data in a team environment
