We are seeking a highly talented and motivated computational chemist to join our team in San Diego. As part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising of leaders in the field of targeted protein degradation, you will be engaged in target selection and hit finding, through to lead optimization and drug candidate selection, as well as exploratory efforts to identify new aspects of this compelling field.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team of structure biology, medicinal chemistry, and biology and support the team by providing computational expertise.
  • Employ cutting-edge Computational Chemistry methods, including physics/ML based activity prediction, QSAR, pharmacophore modeling and ADMET modeling to enable prospective design and propose design strategies.
  • Exploit structure/ligand virtual screening and generative AI methodologies to accelerate hit identification and hit-to-lead.
  • Apply molecular dynamics to simulate protein flexibility to allow high-accuracy prediction of binding site, binding mode, and binding kinetics of small molecules.
  • Investigate, explore, and implement state-of-the-art Computational Chemistry methods that potentially accelerate discovery of molecular glue.
  • Develop custom tools to enable data analysis, sharing and visualization.


Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Chemoinformatics or related field; 2+ years of relevant industrial experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong track record of research accomplishment in Computational Chemistry, structure biology, and chemoinformatics.
  • Deep understanding of protein-ligand interaction and principles of structure-based design.
  • Expertise with traditional Computational Chemistry, which includes docking, pharmacophore modeling, homology modeling, and structure- and ligand-based virtual screening.
  • Experience in physics-based activity prediction methods, including MM-GB/PBSA, FEP, and TI.
  • Experience in application of MD packages (AMBER, GROMACS, OPENMM, and so on) to analyze protein-ligand or protein-protein interaction.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming skills (e.g. Python, R) is essential.
  • Familiarity with commercial Computational Chemistry suites. The Schrodinger and Openeye suites are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Linux command-line and shell scripting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML methodologies for activity/ADMET prediction is preferred.
  • Expertise in protein-protein docking tools is plus.
