Job Description
Capstan Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to advancing in vivo cell reprogramming. The core platform technology comprises proprietary targeted lipid nanoparticles (tLNPs) that are composed of LNPs conjugated with a recombinant protein binder, such as a monoclonal antibody. tLNPs are designed to deliver payloads, including mRNA or gene editing tools, capable of reprogramming specific cell types in vivo. The platform technology has the potential to generate transformative therapies with possible applications across a broad range of disease areas, including oncology, autoimmune disorders, fibrosis, and monogenic blood disorders.
The Opportunity
The Scientist I, Preclinical Bioanalytical will play a key role in the pre-clinical team developing and applying a broad range of assays to support product testing in a broad range of preclinical models. In addition, this position will work closely with Translational Medicine to identify, qualify, and transfer analyses that will be utilized in clinical development setting. By developing a suite of species-specific bioanalytical assays such as immunogenicity/ADA, biomarker, pharmacokinetic and dynamic assays spanning a range of technology platforms (ELISA, ECL, PCR, LC-MS) as well as being fluent in the analysis of flow cytometry data, the candidate will support a wide range of in vitro and in vivo studies and their endpoints, all critical to supporting product development.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Bioanalytical Assays including pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic as well as biomarker and immunogenicity assay development and participation in translation of these preclinical assays to clinic.
- Process and analyze ex vivo or in vitro samples through flow cytometry, molecular biology and other analytical techniques including ELISA and other Ligand binding assays.
- Proficiency with cell culture, including mammalian cell lines and primary immune cells.
- Actively contribute to development and analysis of muti-color flow cytometry assays for characterization of tLNP candidates
- Characterize immune parameters such as phenotype, cytokine profile and distribution in blood and tissues from pre-clinical animal studies, or in vitro experiments.
- Maintain and implement good laboratory practice including an accurate online laboratory notebook system, instrument and reagent validation, and personal safety precautions.
- Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, including Translational Medicine and CROs.

- Proficient in a wide array of molecular biology techniques, encompassing ddPCR, ELISA, LC-MS, and Luminex/MSD-based assays.
- Proven expertise in the development of intricate multi-color flow cytometry panels and adeptness in the phenotypic analysis of diverse immune cell populations.
- Skilled in comprehensive data analysis, spanning flow cytometry, ligand binding, and molecular analysis, with proficiency in data visualization tools such as GraphPad Prism, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
- Demonstrated capability to autonomously execute studies while seamlessly integrating within a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, characterized by meticulous attention to detail, well-suited for dynamic and rapidly evolving scientific landscapes.
