Job description

About You

You are an environmental scientist or engineer with experience working on environmental investigation and remediation projects. You are a strategic thinker who thrives on the challenges of these complex, interdisciplinary environment matters. You are familiar with multiple aspects of field investigation (drafting work plans, coordinating field teams and subcontractors, sample collection), data evaluation, and report writing. As a lifelong learner, you want to keep growing intellectually and professionally. Collaborating with colleagues with diverse expertise is exciting for you, and you are also comfortable working independently. You are highly detail-oriented, organized, and timely. Quality management and integrity are among your strongest principles. You are looking for opportunities to grow in your technical area and the firm as a whole.

About Integral

Integral Consulting Inc. is a science and engineering firm delivering sound technical solutions to meet today's challenges in the health, environmental, and natural resource arenas. We are a values-driven collaborative team that is as passionate about company culture as we are about the work we do for our clients. Since our founding in 2002, we have operated with a demonstrated commitment to the well-being, diversity, and professional development of our staff and an equal commitment to strong partnerships with our clients and teaming partners. We are a company where people come to solve today’s toughest environmental challenges through innovative ideas, exceptional teamwork, and dedication to accuracy and technical quality.

About the Job

We are currently seeking a mid-level geologist or hydrogeologist in our Investigation and Remediation business area. The position will support multiple clients and projects, with a focus on surface and groundwater investigations and analyses. The day-to-day work will vary and may include data analysis, literature research, quality assurance, field work, and report writing. Career growth at Integral offers future opportunities to grow project management skills, communicate with clients, and present your work through science conferences. Most assignments will require teamwork, though a few will be entirely your responsibility.

This position may offer in-office, hybrid, or remote opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

As a mid-level Scientist, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting remedial investigations and feasibility studies under CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, and state equivalent programs, and surface and groundwater resource evaluations
  • Implementing hydrogeologic and sediment investigations, including site characterization, preparation and implementation of field sampling programs, and data evaluations
  • Field sampling and/or sampling oversight
  • Supporting surface water and/or groundwater numerical modeling
  • Task management
  • Communicating technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders)
  • Technical report writing

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, or a related technical field.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Experience in environmental field sampling plan development and execution
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teams
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training Certification desirable
  • A professional hydrogeologist, geologist, or engineering license or on track to obtain

Annual Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000

An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company-match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid sick leave (80 hours per year), paid vacation (12 days), paid holidays (9 days per year), and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be pro-rated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.

We are proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer and are committed to a proactive program of affirmative action and diversity development. Integral Consulting Inc. provides equal opportunity in all of our employment practices to all qualified employees and applicants without regard to race; color; religion; gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions); national origin; age; sexual orientation; disability; marital status; military, veteran, or Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act protected veteran status; gender identity or gender expression; or any other category protected by federal, state, and local laws.

The application window for this position will remain open until the position is filled.

All offers of employment are contingent on candidates successfully passing an employment history screening, degree verification, and a federal, state, and county criminal background and Watch List screening. Candidates will receive a written notice of this requirement. All screenings will be done in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
