Could you be our next Scientist, Gene Therapy Bioanalytical Sciences? This position is located in our Pasadena CA office. You will report to the Senior Scientist, Bioanalytics
You will be responsible for the development and qualification of cellular- and molecular- based potency assays suitable for release testing and characterization of cell and Gene Therapy products, recombinant and plasma-derived proteins and vaccines.
THE ROLE
- Develop and qualify analytical methods for product release testing and characterization, integrating multiple analytical platforms to assess biological function and product potency.
- Provide analytical support for research and product development activities, including preclinical studies and process development as well as GMP product testing.
- Draft assay development plans and reports as well as qualification protocols and reports.
- Transfer assays internally and externally where required.
- Maintain laboratory quality systems and records of analytical results
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in a Biomedical discipline. Advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in biomedical research at an academic research institution or biotechnology company.
- Well-versed in HSC Biology and hematopoiesis. Background in Gene Therapy, gene editing, and/or cell therapy preferred.
- Proficient in cell isolation, culture, expansion, differentiation, and CFU analysis.
- Well-versed in DNA/RNA isolation and characterization (multiplex ddPCR, qPCR) and molecular biology methods.
- Experience with multicolor flow cytometry and immunophenotyping.
- Experience with cell function assays (phagocytosis, chemotaxis, proliferation, differentiation)
- Familiarity with immunology and ELISA, MSD, and/or Olink platforms a plus.
- Experience in assay development and phase-appropriate assay qualification.
- Experience authoring SOPs and work instructions.
- Effective time management skills and ability to work/lead in a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Working knowledge of GMP/GLP and quality control principles

The expected base salary range for this position at hiring is $95,000-125,000 Please note this salary range reflects the minimum and maximum base pay that CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base salary for a successful candidate is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors. In addition to base salary, total compensation for this role may also include incentive compensation
