Job description

The Position

We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love.

The successful candidate will become a member of an in-vivo biology team in Translational Immunology. The team is responsible for developing different in vivo models of inflammatory bowel disease and other autoimmune diseases.

The Opportunity:

  • Participate in the discovery and investigation of large and small molecule drug targets in animal models

  • Perform exploratory disease-oriented research and make innovative intellectual contributions to advance pipeline programs as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team

  • Independently design, execute, analyze and present studies to various forums within the department and across the wider Research organization.

  • Collaboration and communication with scientists across different departments.


Who You Are:

  • The successful applicants will have a PhD in immunology, microbiology, cell biology or related field, a minimum of 5 years mouse or other species hands on in vivo experience is a must. Expertise with handling, inoculations, and sampling in mouse is required, as well as the ability to design and carry out in vivo studies independently.

  • Solid in vitro techniques, including flow cytometry, immunoassay, molecular, and/or cellular biology techniques are also desirable.

  • Candidates must have a documented record of professional achievement in the form of impactful publications, and must be familiar with immunological principles and techniques.

  • A strong background in host and microbiota interaction is highly desired.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and creative problem-solving are required.

  • An optimistic and positive attitude with a strong work ethic and deep scientific curiosity.

  • The desire and ability to take on challenging projects that might not always succeed.

  • Interest in and excitement for learning new experimental and analysis techniques.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $100,200 - 186,000 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
