Form of workAt Jacobs, we're providing industry leading solutions in the areas of planning, compliance, investigation, and remediation. We're looking for Scientific Divers with proven experience to join our team in Vieques, Puerto Rico to support investigations and cleanup of underwater munitions sites located offshore of the former military training ranges. This work involves such activities as sediment sample collection and implementing marine ecology protection measures, including coral relocation and seagrass restoration.
This is a flex hire position for Vieques, Puerto Rico to work on an as-needed basis for a specific project for a limited period of time to fulfill temporary workload requirements. This position does not offer benefits. This position requires computer and cellular telephone communications and reporting. This position requires travel to and multi-week stays, but not relocation to, Vieques, Puerto Rico.

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, marine science, aquatic ecology, oceanography, or similar field
• An Open Water Certification or higher from a recognized diving training agency (PADI, NAUI, SSI, etc.)
• AAUS scientific diving experience related to data collection, sediment and water sampling, marine fish and invertebrate identification, T&E coral identification and relocation, and seagrass restoration
• 40 Hr. HAZWOPER training
• CPR/First Aid/AED and emergency O2 training
• Diver Alert Network insurance
• Eligible to work in the United States
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
• Proven dive experience documented by dive logs with at least 12 dives performed within the last 12 months
• Familiarity with threatened Caribbean coral species and diseases and Caribbean seagrasses, including invasive species
• Availability for multiple three-week or more diving rotations
• Ability to work with a variety of personality types in remote areas with limited amenities
