Founded in 1899 as one of Chicago’s original settlement houses, Association House has a 122-year history of meeting the most pressing needs of those in the communities we serve. Today, we provide comprehensive, collaborative and effective programs with bilingual competency in English and Spanish. With more than 30 programs encompassing Behavioral Health, Child Welfare, Community Health, Workforce Development, and the Association House High School, we promote individual health and wellness and create opportunities for educational and economic advancement. POSITION SUMMARY
Teaches one or more core classes and electives. Assists with individualized academic advisement and supportive services. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of class and student progress. Models appropriate behaviors and teaches social skills needed to succeed in academic and vocational settings. Supports and collaborates with other teachers in a team approach to working with students.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.A./B.S. from an accredited institution in a field related to language arts, social science, science or mathematics.
- Prior experience with multi-ethnic population preferred.
- Illinois State Certification required.
