The ideal candidate will have the ability to create a learning environment that challenges students at all ability levels and encourages inquiry, collaboration, and creativity in the sciences. Teachers will be required to integrate technology into classroom activities; differentiate instruction; effectively utilize formative and summative assessments; use data to inform instruction; etc. The candidate will prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum maps and state standards for Science content areas.
Qualifications
Certified teacher in the state of Indiana or Instructor acceptable to Higher Learning Commission. Preferred candidates will have the ability and licensure to teach Physical Science, Earth Space Science and Biology. Would consider a non-teaching degree, such as a Master's in Biology. Ability/certification and desire to teach Dual Credit preferred. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Degree required in the area of specialty. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Special consideration given to those with a master's degree in the content area.
