Position Summary:

This position supports the Science Laboratory courses, with particular emphasis directed to chemistry and physical sciences under the supervision of the Science Laboratory Manager. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Prepare chemical solutions, materials and supplies for chemistry and physical sciences laboratories.
2. Maintain the lab schedule for all chemistry labs.
3. Provide non-teaching support for faculty.
4. Handle and document biohazardous and chemical wastes according to established Hazmat waste training protocols.
5. Assist the Lab Manager as needed.
6. Keep a clean workspace by routinely disinfecting surfaces and washing glassware.
7. Maintain safe working and teaching environments.
8. Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
9. Understand, interpret and apply College policies and procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. Associate’s degree in a science field2. One (1) full year of general chemistry coursework or one (1) year experience working with chemicals in a laboratory

1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Physical Sciences
2. Two (2) or more years of experience in a laboratory setting
3. Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook applications and email platforms
