At ProCare, our mission is to encourage each child to confidently and proudly achieve his or her full potential. We areworking with a school district that is located in Kent, WAthat looking to hire a contract Sign Language Interpreter to join their staff for the 2023-2024 school year.
The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. Responsibilities:
- 1:1 Elementary student
- Provide interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel.
- Collaborate with educators to ensure the integration of deaf and hard-of-hearing students into mainstream classrooms.
- Stay current on educational terminology and content to provide accurate interpretation in academic settings.
- Support students in developing independent communication skills and advocate for their needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in Sign Language interpretation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpretation or a related field.
- RID certification. or EIPA Score 3.5+
- Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a K-12 environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of educational terminology and content.
- Ability to adapt to various communication styles and preferences.
- Previous school experience preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

- 10 15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
- 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
- Offer is typically within 24-48hours of the virtual interview
