Full-Time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Location: Galena, Illinois
ProCare Therapy is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team for the 2023/2024 school year in Galena, Illinois. As a full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will work with students of all ages who have hearing impairments, providing them with specialized instruction and support to help them succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
- Provide direct instruction to students, using a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to accommodate different learning styles
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to student learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Valid state teaching certification in Deaf Education
- Strong knowledge of current best practices in Deaf Education
- Experience working with students with hearing impairments preferred
