Summary Job Description:
The School Security Monitor is Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors at Spectrum360 by monitoring the campus, preventing unauthorized access, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years relevant experience.
- Experience with children/students preferred.
- Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and perform duties requiring moderate physical exertion.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain an assigned position to monitor cameras, entrances, or other portions of campus as directed.
- Operate and monitor security cameras and alarms. Report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Respond to security incidents, including but not limited to, theft, vandalism, and disturbances. Follow established procedures and assist in maintaining a safe environment during emergencies.
- Ensure that unauthorized individuals do not enter the building.
- Document all security-related incidents, activities, and observations in reports.
- Communicate with the Principal about any safety concerns and potential strategies to address these.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with school staff, students, and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
