Promising Futures, Inc. is now looking for School Security Guards at our Day Treatment Center and Day Reporting Program in which we provide services for youth grades K-12 that address their academic, behavioral and mental health needs.
School Security Guard Job Description Includes but not limited to:
- Actively monitoring school grounds and responding to security threats, emergencies, or other situations as needed
- Maintaining order on school grounds by enforcing rules, responding to student behavioral issues.
- Conducting fire drills, disaster drills, and other emergency preparedness activities
- Reporting any suspicious activity to the principal or other school staff member who can take action
- Performing first aid and other emergency medical procedures in cases of emergency
- Providing security services at school functions such as community service projects, field trips, and etc.
- Conducting security checks on doors, gates, windows, and other entryways to ensure they are secure
- Assist with the transportation of students
- Conducting security checks on students to ensure safety
- Using computers to monitor security systems, dispatch security officers to specific locations, and enter data regarding incidents or emergencies
- Providing security consultation services to schools in other regions including developing security plans and training security staff members to implement those plans
School Security Guard Schedule:
- The school guard schedule when assisting with transporting students for day program can begin as early as 6:00am and as late as 4:30pm
- Shifts can include: 4-hour shifts/6-hour shifts/8-hour shifts/10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday
General Requirements:
- Must pass all background checks which include: National FBI Check; National Sex Offender; Child Protective Services Check; Local Background Checks
- Must pass all drug screens
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must have a reliable vehicle with the ability to use private car to transport self and others.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to have a flexible schedule
- The Employee is responsible for obtaining Automobile insurance coverage($100,000/$300,000).
- 2 years or more preferred in military, corrections or security
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
