Job Description
This role is for the duration of the school year.
Registered Behavior Technicians are responsible for assisting behavior analysts to implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals per their individual education plan (IEP). The candidate will assist students with day-to-day activities, monitor their challenging behavior, record and collect data on student(s)' progress, and work with multidisciplinary teams in a school setting. Other duties may include clerical and administrative duties.
To be successful in this role, you will display a compassionate nature, empathy and discretion in your work. You should have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to develop and maintain relationships with students, supervisors, multidisciplinary teams, and colleagues. This candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and have high self-awareness of skills and limitations. Prior experience in a behavioral health setting and/or school is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
*Assist in the implementation of positive behavior support plans, IEP, and/or 504 plans utilizing ABA principles in the school setting.
*Provide direct 1:1 and/or small group therapy to identified student(s) to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction interventions as directed by the BCBA.
*Implement and report data on programs such as student's IEP goals, behavioral management, social skills and academic areas.
*Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of school district staff.
*Provide a safe and supportive environment for students and school teams (i.e., teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators).
*Implements the student's behavior intervention plan and/or safety plan as developed by the BCBA.
*Collect and analyze skill acquisition and challenging behavior data, with oversight and supervision provided by a BCBA.
*Maintain ongoing communication and participation with the multidisciplinary team regarding student's progress and goals.
*Maintain strict confidentiality.
*Confer with members of ABA therapy staff and other team members, individually and in a conference, to exchange, discuss, student information for planning, modifying, and coordinating individual programs.
*Complete billing sheet according to authorized insurance and/or private contract codes and submit in the designated time frame.
*Communicate through checking voicemail and email regularly.
*Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
*Shifts will be during school hours (e.g., 745-2:10, 8:15- 3:15, etc.), Monday through Friday.
*Availability to assist with coverage for in-home and/or clinic ABA therapy sessions, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
*High School Diploma or GED required.
*Bachelor or Associate Degree in a behavioral health, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education or related field, preferred.
*Registered Behavior Technician Certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
*Crisis management certification is required (e.g., CPI, SafetyCare, etc.), but will be provided upon hire.
*Prior professional experience working with children and/or adolescents with disabilities and/or mental health needs in a multi-disciplinary team setting is preferred.
*Valid CPR certification and other medical and training requirements as specified by payors (or ability to obtain)
*Valid driver license and ability to travel to various schools within assigned region.
*Knowledge of HIPAA privacy practices and adherence to the policies
*Works with integrity and adheres to the BACB Ethical Code
*Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, jog/run and spend time on your feet as well as an ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
*Note: this role requires the ability to spend a significant amount of time crouching, moving, and engaging with children on the floor, playground, and/or standing for long periods of time.
