JOB TITLE: School Receptionist
SUMMARY
The Answers Academy School Receptionist should be the point of contact and gatekeeper for the school. They should be prepared to handle a wide range of inquiries and requests while working independently with little/no supervision. The ideal candidate is people-oriented, possesses expert written and verbal communication skills, can multi-task, understands receptionist duties, completes work in a timely manner, is detail-orientated, and is flexible and highly organized.This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Reports to: School Administrator
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
- Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
- Act as the first point-of-contact to callers and visitors, answer general inquiries, relay messages, and transfer calls asappropriate.
- Require all visitors to sign in and identify themselves and provide the proper passes as per protocol
- Work closely with the SRO regarding daily schedule
- Check students in and out
- Utilize the SIS software and generate reports for internal and external use
- Maintain the schools lost and found box
- Answer the school entrance intercom and act accordingly
- Greet all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally and determine their needs.
- Be knowledgeable on school activities, programs, and events related to the school calendar
- Selling retail items made available
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Administrator
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in a receptionist role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other productivity tools
- Experience in customer service-related field or school environment a plus

- Highly qualified in the areas of integrity, service, professionalism/polish, and critical & creative thinking
- Possess good written and oral communication as well as analytical skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with many personality types at different levels
- Superior organizational skills (a proven track record) and attention to detail
- Proficient usage of a PC
