We are looking for reliable medical staff members to support School Health suites at multiple locations in Prince Georges County, Md. Must be available to work normal business hours, Monday-Friday, in locations throughout the County. The ideal candidates will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm.
The primary role of this position is to care for students that need assistance from a healthcare professional during the school day. Requires excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of basic computer software is a plus. Often performs administrative tasks, such as updating students’ medical records.
Administer medication (e.g. insulin injections).
Promote health-related habits (e.g. proper hand-washing) and ensure compliance with national and local health policies for schools.
Providing healthcare to students with acute or chronic health problems.
Conducting screenings and writing referrals for health services
Developing and monitoring health plans for students.
