Description
Odyssey House is seeking a Full-Time School-based Intake therapist.

Odyssey House is looking for a School-Based Intake Assessment Therapist who will be responsible for conducting year-round assessments of elementary, middle, and/or high school students and their families experiencing behavioral, substance use, and/or mental health difficulties. The therapist must possess strong documentation and people skills and be proficient or willing to become proficient in trauma-informed care and substance use ASAM criteria. The therapist must have a high degree of self-motivation initiation and engage in approved ongoing professional development.
Odyssey House operates with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support your clinical work. This position offers semi-flexibility with a two-evening work schedule (5 days/8 hours or 4/10 hours shift), opportunities for bonuses, and promotions. The position provides weekly supervision.
Job Location: Salt Lake City
Total Compensation: $60,000 salary + $22,000 benefits = $82,000 total compensation

  • Starting Salary = $60,000
    • New Therapist: Starting wage $60,000 (negotiable based on experience)
    • Fully Licensed Therapist: Starting wage $65,000 (negotiable based on experience)
    • 5 years of applicable experience: $68,000-$70,000
  • Benefits Package = approximately $22,000

Core Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and assesses treatment referrals to determine appropriateness for the program; provides immediate response to referrals.
  • Performs mental health assessments (integrated mental health (MH) and substance use assessment) to assess and document the nature and severity of any presenting mental health disorders, provide the correct diagnosis according to the DSM, determine the level of care, and formulate treatment/service recommendations.
  • Conducts intake sessions by correspondence, telehealth, telephone, or in person, obtaining confidential information from referral sources. Assessments will be conducted in the office, schools, and/or remotely.
  • Collect collateral records/admission paperwork and create client files for new admissions.
  • Makes appropriate referrals for consumers with co-occurring disorders who may be unable to receive services, such as medication-assisted treatment, medical, or psychiatric services.
  • Complete the funding authorization and documentation within the required time frames.
  • Conduct individual and family therapy as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Current licensure (includes CSWi, CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, CMHC, MFTi, AMFT, LMFT)
  • Eligible to work in the USA
  • Receive flu shot, TB test, and COVID-19 vaccine (spiritual and medical waivers available)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
