ChildSavers is currently offering a full-time career opportunity within our mental health services department, headquartered in a beautiful and child-friendly building atop of scenic and historic Church Hill in Richmond VA.
ChildSavers' clinical team offers mental health services School-Based Outpatient Therapy services, where we are seeking multiple mental health clinicians to serve under the title of "Clinician I"/”Clinician II.” This Clinician I/II position will support all services with primary responsibilities concentrating on outpatient therapy in Colonial Heights Public Schools. The individual in this role must be passionate in caring for our community’s most vulnerable children & families and continually improving the system which supports their healing and growth. The Clinician I/II will be a vital support for their own clients while also working to support a clinical team who serve a diverse set of community members presenting with mental health support needs, a variety of stressors, and various concerns. This position provides an opportunity to affect change in the lives of children at an historic organization dedicated to the highest quality of care. The incumbent must be passionate in caring for our community’s most vulnerable children through partnerships with other institutions who also value their healing and growth. The Clinician II will be proactive and experienced in the delivery of quality therapy services known to be effective with children. Specialized treatment modalities utilized include: art therapy, sand tray therapy, play therapy, attachment work, talk therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
The Clinician I/II will receive on-going clinical supervision from specialized supervisors in both individual and group formats at no charge. Yearly professional development funds and multiple clinical in-service training opportunities support clinicians in maintaining state licensure and pursuing specialized certifications with a focus on play, art, sand, and expressive therapies, as well as culturally-aware approaches to treating race-based stress and racial trauma.
The Clinician I position is reserved for clinicians within 24 months of licensure eligibility. Spanish fluency and history of delivering clinical services in Spanish preferred. Should the Clinician I employee not meet criteria for state LMHP candidacy within 23 months of identified start date, his/her role may be redefined per the needs of the MHS department. The Clinician II position is reserved for clinicians with current LMHP status within the Commonwealth of Virginia (e.g. LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Completion of Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or licensure-track related human services field with experience working with children from a trauma-informed care perspective
  • Must hold a valid, current Commonwealth of VA Driver’s License and be insurable to drive a company vehicle (if needed)
  • Current Adult/Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or willingness to complete upon hire within time frame provided by immediate supervisor
  • Ideal candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have experience providing both community-based and outpatient mental health services to children and families in urban environments, display skills congruent with trauma-informed care, trauma-focused treatment, family therapy, and play therapy.
  • Exceptional candidates hold an active license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia ( i.e. LCSW, LMFT, LPC).
  • Exceptional candidates will also possess Spanish language fluency, experience working in school settings, and experience working on high-functioning teams.
  • Other requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards

Salary Range
$50,000-$60,000 / annually (based on experience)
