Form of workBayCare is currently in search of our newest Scheduler/Abstractor to join the Preop Surgical team who is passionate about providing outstanding patient care and customer service to the community we serve!
We are looking to fill a Scheduler/Abstractor position at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa Florida
Title: Scheduler/Abstractor
Responsibilities:
- Performs general clerical and communication duties, including all patient scheduling, procedure coding in Envision, patient charging, daily reconciliation, post procedure record abstracting, data entry, monthly statistical reporting, price quotes, insurance verification and authorization, journaling, physician and patient liaison.
- Must have computer skills appropriate to the position.
- Demonstrates interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Use and understand medical terminology.
- Must have knowledge of regulatory standards appropriate to position
- Other duties as assigned.

Certification and Licensure:
- Preferred - BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Preferred - RHIT (Health Information)
Education:
- Required - High School or Equivalent
- Preferred - Associates in Related Field
Experience:
- Required - 2 years - Scheduling in a Healthcare field
- Or - 2 years - Related experience
