We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Scale/Transportation Logistics Supervisor to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 651 Charles Street and limited job-related travel may be required.

PositionSummary:

The Scale/Transportation Logistics Supervisor oversees the MRF scale team, the MRF office team, outbound commodities, and the documentation and tracking for sold goods. Works with buyers, brokers and hauling companies to ensure efficient transactions and maintain commodity inventories at a controlled level. Training, scheduling, and supporting the staff and working as a team member with other MRF managers and supervisors.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and track accurate inventory of material in stock as well as shipped goods
• Manage all paperwork related to the shipping of materials (IE, BOLS, Packing lists, Weight tags and others)
• Ability to track MRF output and foresee future volume to fill orders
• Monitor upcoming bookings, port of call details, and multiple haulers status to ensure consistent movement, efficiency and cost effectively.
• Ensure that inbound and outbound scheduling meets customer’s requests and shipping timelines
• Coordinate the daily loads and schedule the inspector site visit for bookings
• Keep company details involving client pricing and hauling rates confidential
• Daily bale counts and baler reports to maintain an accurate inventory
• Reconcile weight tags, packing lists and client invoices etc. and making corrections as needed
• Work with MRF management team to resolve any client issues effectively
• Manage, support, and direct the scale and office team while filling in as necessary
• Update data to the scale system as needed
• Maintain the scale and main office inventory of supplies for day-to-day operations
• Ability to manage and supervise a team of 15-20 employees, manage shifts, schedule, safety compliance, and help support company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure safety
• Strong analytical, organizational, supervisory, problem-solving skills as well as time management
• Manage and provide support to the MRF teams overseen with minimal supervision.
• Ability to carry out instructions when they are provided orally or written.
• Industry related experience required
• 1-3 years of logistics experience required

Qualifications:

• Valid class C driver’s license
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Strong understanding of the scale operating system
• Ability to start early mornings as needed (flexible schedule)

Language Skill:

• Proficiency in English and Spanish

Physical Demands:

• Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting at a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs and walk throughout the facility

Work Environment:

A typical work week is Monday through Friday, and some weekend work and overtime will be expected as needed. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Generally, will be working at a computer desk but may need to drive a company vehicle off site, tour the facility or other company needs.
