Manatee County has over 735 lift stations which are approximately 1475 pumps. The Lift Station section operates and maintains a SCADA telemetry system that utilizes three telemetry towers with over 35,000 alarm points that they receive information from as we continuously monitor station operation. We have over 150 emergency generators and 9 auxiliary pumps to operate our stations during power outages or system failures.
SCADA Instrumentation Technician:
As a SCADA Instrumentation Technician in the Lift Station section, you will join a highly experienced team tasked with protecting public health and safety, protecting the environment, and conserving Florida's water resources. Your previous experience in the repair, inspection, adjustment, and calibration of electronic controls and instrumentation will be used to install, maintain, and troubleshoot the continually growing number of county lift stations.

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate of competency
- Prior courses or technical training in electronics, instrumentation, and controls required.
- 5+ years' experience in repair, inspection, adjustment, and calibration of electronic controls and instrumentation.
- Valid driver license required, with valid Florida Driver License within 30 days of hire.
Desired:
- PLC & HMI programming, instrumentation, computer science and industrial controls highly desired.
