Description and Qualifications:
Must possess NICET II Certification and 5+ years of experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of complex Fire Alarm and MNS equipment.
High school diploma, along with some form of advanced electronics training from an institution such as a junior college, military service, work experience, or trade school is a plus.
10% travel is required.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to climb towers, maybe as high as 50 feet. (climbing training will be provided).
Basic skills in Microsoft suite, Internet, and email.
Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk).

  • The Electronics Technician II performs tasks related to preventive and corrective maintenance of Fire Alarm systems. Primary responsibility being repair and maintenance of all contract buildings to include advanced troubleshooting of multiple Fire Alarm and Mass Notification systems. Apply advanced knowledge of Fire Alarm circuits to repair issues such as loop open circuits, circuit shorts, or ground faults. Other duties include programming of Monaco M1, M2, Maap+, MaapX, and BTX Communicators to the Monaco D21 front end. Utilize Honeywell EBI to interrogate trouble buildings. Preventative maintenance such as cleaning or adjusting devices, replacing batteries and components. Advanced repairing and replacement of simple Fire Alarm equipment.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • Applies working knowledge of NFPA-70, NFPA-72 and UFC 3-601-02.
  • Work requires indepth familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • Works under minimal supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor. Provides technical guidance to other technicians.
  • Primary responsibility is to conduct corrective maintenance on electrical components on Fire Alarm Systems on a military installation.
  • Repair Fire Alarm equipment, instruments, products, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and quality standards. Verifies all system components report to the FACP. Tests and verifies that alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals are transmitted and received by I2MC (Ft. Bragg 911 Dispatch).
  • Analyzes systemic failure data and trends to determine causes of problems and develops solutions. Performs corrective maintenance for advanced troubleshooting of issues such as loop open circuits, circuit shorts, ground faults, and communication failures.
  • Completes SO reports and technical documentation as written in accordance with technical specifications, program requirements and quality standards.
  • Shall perform on-call duties. Additional Qualifications:
    + Experience with the following Equipment desired: + Fire Alarming, Suppression, and Detection Systems + Fire Sprinkler Systems + Fire Pumps (Electric and Diesel) and Controllers + Interior Mass Notification Systems + Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI), Monaco D21 monitoring system + Receiving/Monitoring equipment associated with the addressable Fire Alarm systems + Fire Extinguishers + Halon-FM 200 System + Standpipes + Honeywell and Monaco Fire Alarm servers and workstations + Antennas, repeaters, cables connected to Fire Alarm systems + Preferred to have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or as an equivalent, 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour course (see Appendix A, paragraph 4.b, EM 385-1-1) applicable to the work to be performed and given by qualified instructors
