Responsibilities*Accurately respond to processing requests, carbon copy and fax pick-ups or distributions; making corrections when needed. Update database directories, daily and weekly productivity forms, spreadsheets, or logs following department guidelines and within designated timeframes. Report to management when any system is unavailable; use other defined systems and down time procedures to perform job duties per individual site/area.*Properly prepare paperwork for scanning in accordance with departmental guidelines and system protocols. Perform 100% QA on all forms prior to scanning.*Follow departmental guidelines for standards in quality and productivity. Scan and electronically process documents for accurate EMR placement and/or routing to appropriate providers as required. Report new documents to management and team for determination of document type, order type, and description. Process STAT requests for scanning, communicating follow-up with customers when appropriate.*Research provider schedules to locate providers for the completion of death certificates. Research the patient record to print supporting documentation. Courier death certificates with supporting documentation, to the responsible provider, using a company vehicle. Document death information in the chart and follow-up with funeral homes.*Follow department guidelines to perform weekly quality reviews of peer?s scanned documents. *Other duties as needed or directed to support the needs of the department.QualificationsEDUCATION:REQUIREDHigh School Diploma or equivalent; Basic knowledge of medical terminologyPREFERREDAssociates degree from an accredited school in a healthcare related fieldEXPERIENCE:REQUIREDMinimum 1-3 years in an HIM department, acute care or clinical care facility with experience using an EHRPREFERRED3-5 years in an acute or clinical care facility with exposure to an electronic health record, Corporate Compliance, Federal Regulations, Release of Information and Privacy RegulationsLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDDrivers License | Valid Drivers LicenseNC driver's license required with 5 years of driving experience; MVR must be approved by Risk Management.PREFERREDRHIT | Registered Health Info TechEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
