SUMMARY    

The Director of Technical Training leads the organization (3-5 direct reports) responsible for Company training for mechanics, inspectors, engineers, and stores personnel in accordance with Federal Air Regulations and Company policies.

SALARY 

The position has a compensation range of $133,465 to $166,830 per year in Seattle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In collaboration with the AAC and NAC Directors of Maintenance and Directors of Quality Control, establish approved technical (maintenance, inspection, engineering, materiel including TRAX) training programs and modules
  • Maintains and ensures that programs and modules are kept current as rules, regulations, or company policies change
  • Ensures training programs operate in compliance with all pertinent regulations and policies
  • Supervise Tec Ops Operations Training team including hiring, training, coaching, and developing, giving timely feedback, performance reviews, and progressive discipline process
  • Dedicated servant leader who fosters a positive and productive work environment
  • Champion of LEAN and continuous improvement
  • Assign projects to the Tech Ops training instructor as necessary
  • Assists in developing training media, related manuals, and processes in support of improved Tech Ops training.
  • Ensures the instruction techniques instructors are satisfactory and conform to Company policies as well as industry standards.
  • Updates and revises the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) as necessary
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI) in conjunction with the training program as it pertains to FAA requirements and Company compliance
  • Promotes safety, efficiency and adherence to departmental and company policies and government regulations
  • Enhances the professionalism of the Tech Ops through training standardization.
  • Maintains currency on regulations, departmental and company policies, and methods of training
  • Performs auditing functions as required
  • Ensures the accurate and timely completion of training records
  • At the completion of training, accurately audits, records, and files training records
  • Corporate and personal information confidentiality is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Airframe and Powerplant license, preferred
  • Proficient in computer-based environments including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (including Power Point) and web browsers
  • Extremely flexible due to daily changes in operational demands
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience developing courseware preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as government regulations, collective bargaining agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, staff, and outside agencies
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of Technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
