Sanitation Crew Member

Job Summary:

The Sanitation Crew Member is responsible for ensuring all areas of the farm, including the Repack and Harvest facilities are cleaned, sanitized, and always organized according to standard operating procedures implemented at the company. The Sanitation member is required to follow all safety measures and protocols.

Essential Functions:

• Clean and sanitize the entire production area, including floors, food contact surfaces and tools while following specifications, policies, and procedures.
• Remove cardboard and unused pallets from production room.
• Follow GMPs to ensure product safety, including always wearing proper PPE.
• Always maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Operate sweepers, scrubbers, pressure washers and other type of sanitation equipment.
• Operate forklifts and loaders as needed.
• Work in a cooperative and respectful manner, communicating effectively.
• Work with all departments as necessary to perform assigned sanitation tasks.
• Assist and relieve other processing employees as necessary during harvest season.
• Attend and participate in all annual, department, and job specific required training.

• Remove trash, recycling, and food waste from production area.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment.
• Follow the pre-operations procedure to Inspect and verify equipment cleanliness.
• Mix and uses chemicals related to cleaning and sanitizing.
• Maintain complete, accurate and legible written records.
• Understand and adhere to the concepts and techniques of the quality process.

Work Environment:

• Work is normally performed in a wet, cool, or humid conditions (non-weather) work environment and near moving mechanical parts.
• Manufacturing setting requires personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used in accordance with company established procedures.
• May require working overtime.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. You will be frequently required to sit. You will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. You will regularly communicate through telephone, and in person, and must have the ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. You must be able to travel via vehicle on an occasional basis.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School degree or equivalency required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Sanitor or work in a Manufacturing setting required.
• Proficient with Aseptic Laboratory Techniques and/or following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Good communication and written skills required.
• English and Spanish speakers preferred.
• High mechanical aptitude required.
• Forklift experience preferred.

• Competent in all relevant work instructions and specifications within 30 days.
