About the role:
Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Associates perform routine sanitation tasks throughout our Vacaville facility.
The schedule for this role is an overnight shift of 12:15 am to 8:45 am
What you'll do
- Responsible for cleaning a Thistle production facility and equipment following a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
- Understand and use a variety of sanitation chemicals to effectively complete assigned tasks
- Recognize soil types and use proper chemicals for removal
- Properly use all sanitation equipment safely
- Recognize and differentiate PH levels for adjusting and neutralizing solutions
Food & equipment safety responsibilities
- Protect product from contaminations while completing assigned tasks at all times
- Ensure equipment cleaning is done correctly
- Inspect equipment before and after cleaning for any possible contamination
- Report any acts or conditions that may place our product at risk to management
- Consistently learn and follow all current and new food and equipment safety rules
- Follow lockout, tag out ("LOTO" procedures
What you'll bring
- 1 - 3 years experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical aptitude with the capability to learn and follow instructions for disassembly and re-assembly of food processing equipment
- Ability to demonstrate excellent safe work habits at all times
- Experience with OSHA programs
- Working knowledge of and experience with sanitation chemicals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical requirements
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods
- Ability to work in temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing(coolers, freezers, etc.)
- Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach repeatedly
$23 - $27 an hour
