Sanitation Associate Lead

Position Summary: The Sanitation Associate Lead guides Sanitation Associates in keeping the working areas in the production departments in clean and orderly condition and for assisting with the training and development of Sanitation Associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

• Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, conveyors, and other processing and manufacturing equipment using water, chemicals, and compressed air.
• Cleans screens, drains, and filters.
• Scrubs the exterior of processing tanks.
• Cleans and scrubs floors in the plant using proper color code tools.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant and unload deliveries.
• Operate scissor lift with fall protection to clean elevated surfaces.
• Maintain lube stations and systems for all production lines.

• Performs cooling/pasteurization tunnel CIPs (Clean in Place) on various production lines both manual and automated. In addition, utilize pumps to send cleaning solution through production machinery and piping.

• Operates Floor Scrubber, Baler, Foamer, Pressure Washer, and other equipment in the normal course of completing duties.
• Adhere to and execute the master sanitation schedule.

• Inspect and replenish chemicals throughout the facility.

• Train Sanitation Associates.
• Provide guidance in work duties of Sanitation Associates.
• Maintain a clean work area.

• General
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.

• Knowledge of handling and working with sanitation chemicals such as caustic and acids.

• Knowledge of proper PPE usage.
• Proficient in managing inventory of chemicals.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• 6 months of sanitation work experience preferred,or equivalent combination of production manufacturing experience (beverage preferred).

• Experience with computer usage and use of software programs, preferred.
• Forklift Certification (preferred)

Language Skills: English is required, and the ability to speak Spanish is desirable.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
