Job Summary and Mission The Salon Director contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director is required to regularly exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the salon. A majority of time is spent supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring client satisfaction and quality of client experience, monitoring and motivating staff to achieve performance goals, handling minor maintenance issues, ensuring the cleanliness of your salon, and managing safety and security within the salon. The Salon Director is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Sun Tan City principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Client Satisfaction - Ensuring exceptional client satisfaction in your salon by:

· Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experience.

· Following up swiftly on client concerns or issues.

· Putting the client experience first before any other responsibilities.

Leadership - Communicating goals for the team, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:

· Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume/unusual events.

· Consistently sets a positive example.

· Displays a “client comes first” attitude by holding team members accountable for delivering exceptional client service.

· Drives company metrics by developing action plans. Directly motivates and instructs the salon team by implementing company programs.

· Manages with integrity and honesty and promotes the culture, values and mission of Sun Tan City.

· Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations.

· Provides coaching and direction to the salon team to achieve operational goals. Constantly reviews salon environment and key metrics to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

· Directly responsible for cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation and organization of the salon (Salon Directors are required to clean, maintain, and sanitize equipment, etc.).

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the salon team, managing execution, and measuring results:

· Manages salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and maintain salon operational requirements.

· Identifies and prioritizes communications and uses discretion to filter communications to the salon team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately.

Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:

· Adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt team members and minors.

· Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon. Tools include labor guidelines, reports, cash management and inventory management.

· Utilizes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance.

· The Salon Director is required to work a 5 day workweek of 45 hours per week (minimum), including two mid or closing shifts each week.

· During peak season the SD must work 3 mid or closing shifts each week (February 1 - June 1).

Sales Development & Team Building - Providing team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

· Regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance.

· Manages ongoing sales.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

· Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment

· Ability to lift items/team lift items and heavy boxes

· Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels etc from the floors

· Ability to perform salon cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc.

• Kingsport, TN 37660: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
