They spend the summer as a valued member of their respective team, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the bank's operations. An additional focus of the summer intern will be to complete a capstone project that will seek to add value to the team they are supporting.
Job Description
At CoBank, our Sales/Credit Interns assist with a variety of tasks including new target market research, portfolio analysis, pitch book construction for loan and swap opportunities, cash flow, valuation, and profitability analysis, and commercial credit report construction and analysis.
This intern will participate in various portfolio management activities by focusing on strategic planning for the Commercial Agribusiness Banking Group and discovering new lending opportunities under the bank's broad agriculture, renewable power, waste, and recycling authorities. A capstone summer project will also be completed. Projects could include new target market research, portfolio risk analysis, market snapshots, etc.
The Corporate Agribusiness Banking Group is responsible for large corporate and upper middle-market sectors. Our customers, both public and private, have annual revenues in excess of $500 million.
This is a paid position for undergraduate and graduate students and is located in Denver, Colorado.

Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in and working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration & Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Ag Economics, or a related disclipline and in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to model in Excel.
- Aptitude for learning other software applications.
- Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Experience/ high-level of personal interest in banking or the financial services industry.
Compensation Information:
- Undergraduate student - $21.00
- Masters student - $25.00
- Plus $3,500 summer living/housing stipend
