Job Summary:
This role is responsible for developing and executing NRG’s Sales Training strategy, supporting all relevant sales channels. The Training Specialist will train both in-person and virtually to enable sales agents and leaders to sell NRG’s suite of energy and related products effectively.
This position supports both Texas USA and Alberta CA markets for NRG.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work with sales vendors to plan, schedule, manage, and track their training needs
- Determine training requirements by understanding NRG’s sales and marketing strategic plans and evaluation of current sales results
- Work with Program Manager to develop and execute “salesperson lifetime training” path, and own the materials created
- Onboarding training
- Advanced training
- Supplemental/ongoing training
- Identify business opportunities (process improvements, knowledge sharing, feedback from agents, etc.) and works with the relevant Channel Managers and Vendor Managers to execute and implement them.
- Assist with audits of third-party vendors and in-house personnel for compliance with policies and procedures and with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Analyze data to determine trends, identify needs and opportunities, allocate resources in a cost-effective manner, and prepare reports describing overall and individual performance.
- Collaborate with vendor management and channel sales teams in the implementation, monitoring and reassessment of quality improvement plans at the vendor, office, agent, and product levels.
- Assist with maintaining documentation of processes as allowed per state and or federal requirements related to oversight of audits, sales, and customer experience performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to promote a cooperative and constructive environment for improvement.

Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work environment based on existing business needs
- Some overtime is required as special projects arise
- Travel within Texas (Houston, Dallas, South Texas) as required

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of experience facilitating group learning (virtual and/or in-person)
- Experience developing training curriculum/content
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of energy industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design
- Proficient with standard office workstation technology, including Microsoft Office suite or software tools

Physical Requirements:
- This role typically spends time sitting and working with computer
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
