Job description

Position: Sales Support Specialist

Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the sales process by providing administrative assistance, managing customer inquiries, and ensuring smooth communication between the sales team and other departments. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Sales Support Specialist contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team by handling administrative tasks and supporting customer interactions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of sales operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the sales lead with administrative tasks, including preparing sales documents and reports, processing orders, and maintaining sales records and databases using tools such as SAP and Tableau.
  • Handle inquiries and requests from clients, providing information, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Operations, Scheduling, and Procurement, to facilitate the fulfillment of customer orders and resolve issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of clients’ products, services, and pricing structures to effectively support sales efforts and address customer inquiries.
  • Monitor and track sales activity, including on time delivery, existing product development, and component stock levels, using CRM software or other sales management tools.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new sales team members, providing guidance on sales processes, tools, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to provide insights and recommendations for sales improvement.
  • Maintain and update customer databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for effective sales tracking and reporting.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office suite applications, and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Tableau).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and support.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques, processes, and best practices is a plus.
  • Position is Hybrid with Corporate office based in Edgerton, Wisconsin.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing or equivalent experience (1-3 years in similar roles/functions).
  • Previous experience in Sales Support, customer service, or administrative roles.
