Sales Support Associate

We are looking for a Store Associate with a smile and passion for nature! We are hiring for our store in Athens, GA. Please read the minimum requirements and job descriptions below.

Our Sales Associates work with other staff, including the owner, to bring to life the store’s mission – “We Bring People and Nature Together®…And We Do It With Excellence!” To that end, we provide training with regard to backyard bird feeding, bird watching and product knowledge.

Requirements:

• Energetic and enthusiastic attitude and enjoyment working with customers.
• Previous retail experience. Preference to Retail Specialty environment.
• Ability to lift and carry 20-50lbs. We carry seed for our customers – a foundation of our service! Lifting is more than an occasional requirement as we are constantly receiving shipments of seed and other products that must be moved and labeled to sell.
• Ideal candidate is able work 3-5 days per week and available to work most weekends. We will consider applications that meet the needs of the business, but a flexible schedule and the ability to work weekends is required.
• Organized and process driven. Ability to create, teach, and implement processes to ensure store runs well and creates and inviting and happy environment.
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
• Ability to work with peanuts and live mealworms, a key ingredient in bird food.

Job Description

Overview

The position of Store Lead reports to the franchise owner or manager. The primary responsibility of the Store Support Associate is to support the store owner and/or store manager in providing a high energy customer experience. The store lead sets the example of leadership and salesmanship.

General Accountabilities

• Demonstrates an understanding that customers are our number one priority by following WBU's 10 Touch Points
• Smiles, greets and thanks every customer with whom they interact
• Bags bird seed
• Maintains a friendly, outgoing, and helpful demeanor
• Checks in, unpacks and prices merchandise
• Carries out purchases for customers
• Stocks merchandise
• Sets up displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales
• Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer
• Answers customer's questions concerning location and price of merchandise
• Wraps or bags merchandise for customers
• Communicates when stock levels are low or items are out of stock
• Assists the management team and peers with operational tasks
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment through housekeeping and merchandising
• Responsible for clocking in and out as scheduled
• Presents a clean, neat, professional appearance and adheres to the company dress code guidelines
• Identifies and reports Loss Prevention concerns to management team
• Identifies and reports safety concerns to management team
• Communicates effectively and professionally with customers, peers, management team and others
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Commitment to continuous development through training courses to become one of our store's trusted local experts
• Attends store meetings as required

Physical Demands
