RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and direct Sales Engineers and Applications Engineering Department
- Assign sales and other internal projects
- Organize and manage the weekly sales meetings
- Negotiate commercial terms on new equipment and rebuild projects
- Manage and direct independent sales reps (including annual sales meeting)
- Assist with marketing
- Direct and manage trade shows and other related technical sales presentations
- Work closely with applications engineering team to meet customer deadlines
- Work closely with product managers on the advancement of modular and custom products
- Maintain and improve sales interactive
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to minimize risk on new projects
- Attend global sales meetings with other Company Entities
- Attend global sales strategy meetings
- Work closely with partners to form sales strategies
- Assist in the marketing efforts as needed
- Sell large, custom-engineered heat treatment equipment - Equipment features include various levels of automation and complex processes.
- Sell rebuild, modification and relocation projects for used and existing heat treat equipment
- Manage existing business while always looking for opportunities with new customers
- Educate customers on product features and benefits
- Organize sales visits and maintain relationships with customers.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation of proposals and quotes to meet customer requirements - Engineering Sales team has support for proposal development and pricing from Applications and Estimating Department
- Review cost and sales performance
- Participate in the preparation of sales budgets
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to support new equipment sales activity.
- Interface with Sales Representatives and Partners as required
- Attend trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings
- Ensure that sales targets are met
- Conform to all policies & procedures within the company
- Engineering degree or comparable experience in industrial capital equipment sales
- Must have 5+ years of capital equipment sales experience
- Must have experience managing people and rep networks
- Must have experience negotiating commercial terms
- Must have experience closing multimillion-dollar projects
- Preferred engineering related to heat treatment or metallurgical experience desirable
- Preferred knowledge of a variety of heat-treating furnaces (i.e. batch, continuous, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong computer skills
