Job Description
The Sales Engineer works as part of a sales team collectively responsible for growing the Ready Computing book of business. The Sales Engineer will participate in customer facing meetings, perform needs identification, develop demonstrations, assist in proposal writing, recommend architectures, build Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), accurately assess labor estimates and scope, assist in pricing, and more. They are a key part of the sales process. The Sales Engineer is expected to stay up to date on all Ready approved solutions and offerings and to actively look for new clients and customers to sell to. Solutions proposed by the Sales Engineer will maximize customer impact and address all identified needs while fostering maximum adoption of Ready Computing technologies and partners.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Develop and expand portfolio of Ready Computing clients in the US State and Commercial sectors;
- Sell Information Technology (“IT”) solutions into organizations where multiple decision makers are present;
- Require experience with healthcare interoperability solutions, EMR’s, interface engines, and HIE systems, InterSystems experience highly preferred;
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, and IHE profiles;
- Understand client needs, and present Ready Computing products and services to meet those needs;
- Understand competitive offerings, and how to position Ready Computing products and services accordingly;
- Remain current on Ready Computing’s offerings and industry trends through self-education and formal training;
- Design conceptual architectures that implement Ready Computing software components, tools, and products for prospective customers;
- Provide strong technical writing and content to Ready Computing’s Proposal Team during the RFx response process;
- Prepare and deliver presentation materials, including but not limited to slideshows and demonstrations;
- Represent Ready Computing at tradeshows, user group meetings, and other marketing events;
- Take on other responsibilities and assignments from time to time as requested by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Creativity to approach sales and build customer relationships in groundbreaking new ways
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales and/or public sector sales
- Solid experience in your products' industry
- Computer proficiency and the ability to accurately enter data and generate reports
- Negotiation and social problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress sales environment and multitask
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of education or equivalent work experience in the field.
- Healthcare experience preferred;
- Highly organized and detailed, with a "perfectionist" approach to work;
- Flexible and able to adapt to frequently changing standards and priorities;
- Customer advocate, working hard to ensure customer success and satisfaction;
- Oral and written fluency in English.
Physical & Mental Qualifications:
- All positions require the ability to work on a computer for at least eight (8) hours per day. This includes fine and gross manipulation (typing and utilizing the mouse), looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time, visual acuity (reading off of a computer screen). This also includes the ability to sit and stand for a combined period of at least eight (8) hours per day.
- All positions require minimum and infrequent lifting requirements (laptop).
- No positions require walking requirements apart from the travel and commute as stated in this section.
- All positions require the ability to talk on the phone.
- Most positions require occasional travel.
- Most positions allow for working from home, however, positions based in the New York metro area require commuting requirements into the office.
- All positions require the ability to focus on numerous tasks and project requirements throughout and eight (8) hour workday.
- All positions require the ability to work, communicate, and collaborate with team members, peers, clients, vendors, and other entities that the Company maintains business relationships with.
