Director of Sales
SALARY: $105-$175K/year, Full-Time, Exempt
BONUS: Up to 30% of salary, annual

ABOUT OUR HOTEL
- 4th largest hotel in Seattle
- Stable operation – hotel has never been sold
- Never closed during the pandemic even though about 30 other hotels in Seattle were closed for more than 1 year
- Although we had to lay-off 90% of our staff at the beginning of the pandemic, we brought the majority of them back. Our people are very loyal to the hotel & were waiting for our call to return.
- Hotel review rating on Marriott website is higher than other Seattle Marriott full-service sister hotels including W-Hotel, Westin, Marriott, Sheraton
JOB SUMMARY

- You LOVE people and LOVE to take care of them, right? Keep reading.
- You are a Sales Pro and you make it your team’s mission to pro-actively sell, sell, sell. You always know exactly where they stand in regards to their quarterly goals. Once you help them to be on track meeting their goals, you inspire them to put it into overdrive and reach for 150%.
- You are in charge of 9 people (Sales, Catering, Events, Revenue Management). What does it take? Let’s see how many tasks we come up with; feel free to add, because we probably forgot some. Sell, prospect, increase group & catering business, gain “unfair” market share, recruit, interview, training, monitor quality/quantity of work, in the trenches with your team, Social Media guru, Marketing, PR, Advertising, Promotions, manage influencers, trade shows, sales missions, outside sales calls, travel, face of the hotel for our partners like Visit Seattle, answering a million questions, capitalize on Marriott resources, site inspections, airline crew expert, plan fun employee events, coach, mentor, discipline (team must meet quarterly goals), terminate, owner relations, analyze, position the property to be THE lifestyle hotel in Seattle, paperwork, console, emphasize, cheerlead (pom poms optional), performance reviews, payroll, purchasing, invoices, herding cats, DEI, community service. You get the idea.
- Needless to say, this is NOT a remote/hybrid gig

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Background must include: 2+ years of experience as a Sales Department Head in a 300+ room full-service hotel OR Assistant Sales Department Head in a 400+ room full-service hotel OR any size luxury hotel (Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, or equivalent)
- Computer skills essential
