Sales Associate

Summary

A Sales associate’s primary responsibility is to correspond with customers, determine their needs, and effectively assist them in becoming a TISD customer. The Sales Department is also responsible for customer retention, and associates will be required to attempt saving customers who wish to cancel. Associates will also perform cancellations and use data which comes from taking those cancellations to better understand customer needs. An associate in this position will also be responsible for attending to walk-in customers and their needs, as well as maintaining the appearance and quality of the retail store.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

Answers incoming sales calls, qualifies customers, sets up new accounts.

Reads and conveys basic technical data to the customer to service their needs, as well as, enters information to compute amounts due.

Refers customer data to forward to the technical, scheduling, departments as needed.

Process field technician paperwork and payments, scan and attach tickets to customer accounts.

Attempt to retain customers who wish to cancel service.

Collect and utilize data from cancellations to better serve current customers.

Collect and understand data from competing companies in order to better communicate with Marketing, creating better sales techniques, and uses based on location and market.

Collections on suspended accounts.

Attends to the needs of each customer as they come into the store.

Monitors retail store inventory levels and accounts for shrinkage.

Sells merchandise effectively to customers, with integrity, upselling when necessary.

Post transactions to customer accounts including adjustments such as credits or incorrectly billed accounts.

Prepares credit memorandums to indicate returned or incorrectly billed merchandise.

Reads/gathers records and or files for purchase orders, sales tickets, and charge slips, to compile needed data.

Responds to emails and voicemails regarding any sales inquiries.

Maintain ACH paperwork accurately in the ACH binder.

Education and/or Experience

Associates degree; or two (2) years of sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Cash handling experience.
